For dinner, visit the historic Lions Den Hotel (5-min drive) for pub meals and live music, or explore Cooktown's Thai Herb & Spice, The Ship Wreak Cafe, Balcony Restaurant the Hong Kong Restaurant, RSL, or Bowls Club. We had the opportunity to sit with him and ask questions which was an incredible highlight for us. You can watch the First Life documentary on ABC iView and see him sharing the Velvet Worm found in the rainforest at Mungumby Lodge.
Mungumby Lodge welcomes families, to accommodate we offer special family rates for two or more bungalows as no cabin holds more than three pax call 4060 3158 to find out. Due to the style and layout of the lodge we are not suitable for children under 6.
Absolutely! Mungumby Lodge is a photographer’s paradise with such a huge range of flora, fauna, wildlife and landscapes to explore, nature provides you with all the subject matter you could want. We’ve been taking photos here ourselves for years and haven’t run out photography opportunities yet.
The historic Lions Den hotel is just a 5 minute drive from Mungumby Lodge serving up classic Aussie pub meals at reasonable prices in a fun atmosphere. Alternatively, you can take the 25 minute drive into Cooktown and check out Thai Herbs & Spice, the RSL, Bowls Club, Ship Wreck Cafe, Balcony Restaurant or Hong Kong Restaurant instead.
